Israel is the President of Engine Ventures. He has been deeply involved with the firm since its founding, leading its launch from MIT in 2016. He played a central role in shaping the organization's vision and early growth. In 2023, he became President of Engine Ventures, where he works closely in deal structuring and with the founders and boards of scaling companies.

Israel served on the boards of Moderna, Fortive, Aura Biosciences, and FM Global. Previously, he was Executive Vice President and Treasurer, trustee and member of the executive and endowment committees at MIT. Earlier in his career, he held engineering and management roles at Hewlett-Packard and Nissan.

Israel is a member of the governance of the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT, and Harvard. He holds a master’s from MIT Sloan and an engineering degree from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
