Rachel is a Principal at Engine Ventures. Rachel works with founding teams across the portfolio to help build and scale breakthrough technologies in energy, health, and infrastructure. She also leads several of the firm’s protofounder development initiatives, including the Pathways Workshop Series and the Entrepreneurial Fellows Program. She currently serves as a board observer for Mantel, Sublime Systems, Genomines, and DBOS.

As a former co-founder of two startups, one stemming directly from her research, Rachel brings firsthand experience in translating academic work into clinical and commercial products at the intersection of hardware and biology.

Rachel holds an MS and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University, where her research focused on developing methods for the fabrication and ultrasound-actuated control of implantable microdevices, and an SB in Mechanical Engineering from Harvard University.
