Reed is a General Partner at Engine Ventures. Reed brings more than 40 years of experience across venture capital and the software industry, with deep expertise in company formation, technology strategy, and software development. He currently serves on the boards of 2Pi, Amide, DBOS, Foundation Alloy, Hyperlight, Oso-Semiconductor, T-Robotics and The Routing Company and is a board observer for Overview Energy, ISEE, Finwave, and Celestial AI.

Previously, Reed was a founder and Managing Director at Project 11 Ventures and Techstars Boston. With a background in software, Reed attended MIT, ran Microsoft Startup Labs in Cambridge, and served as VP of Technology at Idealab, Boston.

Earlier in his career, Reed created Freelance Graphics, which was acquired by Lotus Development Corp. Reed has been a lecturer at MIT Sloan and is a frequent speaker in MIT entrepreneurship programs and courses.
