CEO & Managing Partner

Katie is the CEO & Managing Partner of Engine Ventures. With more than 15 years of experience as a technology executive and investor, Katie has helped build Boston’s innovation ecosystem. She served as CEO and Managing Partner of The Engine from 2017 to 2023, building the company from inception. In 2023, The Engine’s venture capital arm grew into an independent firm, with Katie at the helm. She currently serves as a Board Member for Engine Ventures’ portfolio companies Boston Metal, Commonwealth Fusion Systems, Form Energy, and Teradar.

Previously, Katie was a Managing Director at Techstars Boston and a co-founder and Managing Director of Project 11 Ventures. Over her career, she has advised hundreds of founders from early-stage formation through scale-up, and made investments including PillPack (acquired by Amazon for $1 billion in 2018), Flywire, and GrabCAD. Katie has also held leadership roles at Microsoft, AltaVista, and RagingBull.

Katie holds an MBA from Yale and a BA in Biology from Oberlin College. She also co-founded the Equity Summit, which convenes leading General Partners and asset managers from diverse backgrounds across the venture capital industry.
